Lochaber Gaelic Initiative

Gaelic medium and Gaelic education is offered to varying degrees in Lochaber in three secondary schools. The Iomairt wishes to see current provision consolidated and ultimately expanded. Children who have been educated through the medium of Gaelic at primary school usually continue with Gaelic at secondary level and enjoy the many opportunities afforded by being bilingual.  

Extra-curricular activities, over and above that offered through English, are available to Gaelic speaking students and may include fèisean, outdoor activities, award schemes, training and employment benefits.
